Lens Type

Optical lenses are available in several forms, such as Single-vision lenses, Bifocal lenses, Progressive lenses (PAL), Occupational Progressive Lenses (OPL), and Special lenses ( Anti - Eyestrain lenses )

1. Single Vision Lenses

A conventional optical lens for myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism has only one power, which is used for general vision correction or mounted on a reader specifically designed for short distances. Singlevision lenses are available in spherical, aspherical, double-side aspherical, and other designs, each of which provides different vision and wearing comfort.

2. Bifocal Lenses

Presbyopic people who use reading glasses specifically designed for short distances must switch to a different pairs of glasses when they want to see over longer distances. To eliminate such inconvenience, a lens known as a multi-vision lens, was created with a portion for short distances and a portion for long distances. The most commonly used design is bifocal lenses, which has a portion for short distances in the lower part of the lens. In addition, a trifocal lens is also available, which has an additional portion for medium distances.

3. Progressive Addition Lenses ( PAL )

Among the multi-vision lenses stated above, progressive lenses are fitted with strengths that flow seamlessly and smoothly between near and distant points. Progressive lenses provide vision for short, medium, and long distances and make glasses more stylish because they have no outstanding drawback with regards to appearance unlike multi-vision lenses. For these reasons, they are often used for presbyopia refractive correction. Our collection of progressive lenses lets you choose from many types most suited to your purpose and use.

4. Occupational Progressive Lenses ( OPL )

Occupational progressive lens has a gradual change in power : the top of the lens focuses mid-distances, such as computer screens and beyond, whilst the bottom is for reading, so books and papers are crystal clear. OPL replaces reading glasses or can be an additional pair for hobbies, computer work or for those times when progressive lenses aren’t suitable.

5. Special Lenses ( Anti-Eyestrain lenses )

Anti-Eyestrain lenses are advanced single vision lenses designed to relieve the symptoms of visual fatigue. Symptoms include eyes that sting and feel tight, headaches, eye strain and blurred vision during long periods of near or intermediate vision work such as computer use or reading.
